Landing a big fish sounds great, until it bites back.
Here’s something you might not know:
The bigger the fish, the more mercury it carries.
Why?
Larger fish are higher up the food chain, meaning they accumulate more mercury from the smaller fish they eat.
If you want nutrient-rich seafood without the heavy metals, follow the SMASH rule:
✅ Sardines
✅ Mackerel
✅ Anchovies
✅ Salmon
✅ Herring
These small, oily fish are low in mercury and high in omega-3s, great for your brain, heart, and the planet.
